Hunnid Gifts and Refunds Policy
Effective date: [PLACEHOLDER]
This is a plain-English explanation of how Gifts, fees, refunds, and payment disputes work on Hunnid. It is part of our Terms of Service; if anything here conflicts with the Terms, Section 6 (Gifts) and Section 7 (Refunds, Reversals, and Payment Disputes) of the Terms control. Capitalized terms have the meanings in Section 2 of the Terms.
1. What a Gift Is
In short: a Gift is a tip, a way to say "thank you" to a DJ for their set. It is not a purchase.
- A Gift is a voluntary tip from a Fan to a DJ in appreciation of their live performance. Gifts have playful names based on club production effects (for example Glowstick, Laser, Airhorn, Pyro, Hunnid) and preset dollar amounts, or you can enter your own whole-dollar amount, currently from $5 to $500 per Gift. A custom amount plays the effect of the highest tier it reaches.
- Your Gift goes to the DJ, minus Hunnid's 15% Platform Fee and standard card processing. Those fees are charged to the DJ, not added to your price.
- A Gift is a tip, not a purchase of anything specific. It does not guarantee a song request, a shoutout, a meeting, or any other benefit. Requests and shoutouts are courtesy features; the DJ decides.
- Gift names are digital effects only. Sending "Pyro" plays an animation on the Booth Screen. It never sets off real pyrotechnics, CO2, or any physical effect at the Venue.
- There is no wallet, no coins, no credits. Every Gift is a separate charge to your card at the moment you send it. You cannot hold a balance, and Fans cannot cash anything out.
2. What You Pay
In short: the price shown on a Gift is what you pay. There is no added fee for Fans. Your Gift goes to the DJ, minus Hunnid's 15% Platform Fee and standard card processing.
- Gift Amount: the face value of the Gift. It is the amount you choose and the price you pay.
- No fee for Fans: we do not add a service fee or any other fee on top of your Gift.
- Where your money goes: Your Gift goes to the DJ, minus Hunnid's 15% Platform Fee and standard card processing (a Processing Fee of 2.9% of the Gift Amount plus $0.30). Those fees are charged to the DJ, not added to your price. For example, when you send a $10 Laser, you pay $10.00, and the DJ is credited $7.91 after a $1.50 Platform Fee and a $0.59 Processing Fee.
- Taxes: if the law ever requires us to collect sales or similar tax on a Gift, we add it and show it before you pay.
- Total Price: Gift Amount + any tax the law requires. The price you see on each Gift is the total you pay, and the Total Price is shown before you confirm.
3. How Payment Works
In short: Stripe processes your payment. We never see your full card number. Your statement will say "HUNNID* DJNAME".
- You can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number goes to Stripe, not to us.
- Your Gift is complete when Stripe confirms the charge. At that point the Gift Amount has been received for the DJ and is credited to the DJ's account with Stripe, less the Platform Fee and Processing Fee.
- Your card statement will show "HUNNID* " followed by the DJ's name (for example "HUNNID* DJ NOVA"). If you see this and do not remember the charge, check your receipt email, then contact us before calling your bank.
- We email a receipt for every Gift. Guests need to give us an email address to receive one.
- You must be 18 or older to send a Gift (19 or older in Korea; see Section 9).
4. Refunds: The Rules
In short: Gifts are final, because the money goes to the DJ. We refund in a few specific situations.
Gifts are non-refundable, except in these cases:
| Situation | What we do | How to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicate charge: you were charged twice for the same Gift because of an error | Refund the duplicate Total Price | Email support@hunnid.app with your receipt or the last four digits of your card and the time of the Gift |
| Technical failure: your payment went through but the Gift was never recorded to the DJ because of a Platform failure | Refund the Total Price | Email support@hunnid.app; we will check our records and Stripe's |
| Unauthorized use: someone used your card or wallet without permission | Refund the Total Price, if reported within [PLACEHOLDER: 60] days after the charge | Email support@hunnid.app right away; we may ask for information to investigate |
| Required by law | Whatever the law requires | Email support@hunnid.app |
What is not a refund reason:
- The DJ did not play your request or give you a shoutout.
- Your message was filtered, hidden, or removed for violating the Community Guidelines.
- The Booth Screen was off, the Venue's screens were not connected, or you could not see your Gift on screen. (Your Gift was still credited to the DJ.)
- You changed your mind, or you did not like the set.
Sent it to the wrong DJ? Tell us within [PLACEHOLDER: 24] hours at support@hunnid.app. If the funds have not yet been paid out to the DJ, we will try to help, at our discretion. We cannot promise a refund in this situation, so please confirm the DJ's name on the Gift page before you pay.
How refunds are paid: to your original payment method through Stripe, usually within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank. When we refund a Gift, we recover the DJ's share from the DJ as described in the DJ Agreement.
5. Please Contact Us Before Disputing With Your Bank
In short: we can usually fix a real problem faster than a chargeback, and chargebacks hurt the DJ.
If something looks wrong, email support@hunnid.app first. We aim to reply within [PLACEHOLDER: 2] business days and to process valid refunds quickly.
A chargeback (asking your bank to reverse a charge) for a Gift you authorized is different from a refund. When you file one:
- The DJ's share of the Gift is pulled back from the DJ, who did nothing wrong, and the DJ also bears the card processing fee.
- Card networks charge fees, which we absorb.
- We respond with evidence that you authorized the Gift: the QR scan, your confirmation of the Total Price, device and location signals, your receipt email, and your acceptance of the Terms.
- We may pause your ability to send Gifts while the dispute is open, and we may close accounts that file chargebacks for Gifts that were authorized.
If your card really was used without permission, contact us within [PLACEHOLDER: 60] days and we will refund you directly, which is faster than a bank dispute.
6. How We Handle Disputes and Fraud
In short: we investigate, we protect Fans from unauthorized charges, and we do not let anyone use Gifts to cheat.
- We use Stripe's fraud tools and our own signals (for example distance from the Venue, device patterns, and velocity) to screen Gifts. We may decline or delay a Gift for review.
- We set limits per Gift, per day, and per account to reduce fraud.
- DJs may not gift themselves, reimburse others for gifting, or use related accounts or bots. When we find that, the fraudulent proceeds are forfeited and used first to refund the affected card holders.
- If you believe a DJ is abusing Gifts, report it to support@hunnid.app.
7. For DJs
In short: you receive each Gift minus our Platform Fee and Processing Fee; earnings are held 3 days, then you withdraw them whenever you like, free; refunds and chargebacks come out of your balance; we pay the dispute fees unless the dispute was your fault.
- For each Gift you are credited the Gift Amount minus Hunnid's 15% Platform Fee and a Processing Fee of 2.9% of the Gift Amount plus $0.30, each rounded to the nearest cent. For a $10 Gift that is $7.91; for a $100 Gift, $81.80.
- Withdrawals. Each Gift's earnings are held for 3 days, then become available. Tap Withdraw in your dashboard whenever you like to send your available balance to your bank through Stripe, usually within 1 to 2 business days. The minimum withdrawal is $10, and there is no withdrawal fee. The hold can be extended for risk review, refunds, chargebacks, suspected fraud, or legal holds.
- When a Gift is refunded or charged back, the amount credited to you for it is deducted from your Connected Account balance or recovered from future Gifts. If you already withdrew those earnings, your balance can go negative; we recover it from your future earnings first, and you repay whatever remains after 30 days. Unless the refund or reversal was caused by a Hunnid or Platform error (such as a duplicate charge or technical failure), the Processing Fee is also recovered, because Stripe does not return processing fees on refunds. Hunnid absorbs the Platform Fee.
- Hunnid pays card network and Stripe dispute fees, unless the dispute was caused by your fraud or a Gift you or someone acting with you procured.
- You can ask us to refund a Gift to a Fan; we will do it where we can.
- Details are in Sections 4.3, 5, 7, and 8 of the DJ Agreement.
8. Questions
Email support@hunnid.app. Include the DJ's name, the approximate time of the Gift, the Venue, and the email on your receipt so we can find it quickly.

9. Korea
In short: Gifts priced in Korean won work differently. Hunnid sells them as digital items, prices include VAT, and Korean consumer law applies. The Korean-language policy controls.
Gifts priced in Korean won on the page of a DJ whose region is Korea ("Korean Gifts") are governed by the Korean-language 선물 및 환불 정책 (legal/ko/gifts-and-refunds.md) and 이용약관(대한민국), not by Sections 1 through 7 of this page (Terms Section 30). In summary:
- Hunnid is the seller. A Korean Gift is a digital item Hunnid sells to you, delivered immediately by showing it with your nickname and message on the DJ's page and, when it is running, on the Booth Screen. It is not a tip collected for the DJ, and there is no Platform Fee or Processing Fee.
- Prices include 10% VAT, and no fee is added: Glowstick ₩10,000, Laser ₩20,000, Airhorn ₩30,000, Pyro ₩50,000, Hunnid ₩100,000, or a custom amount from ₩10,000 to ₩500,000 in ₩1,000 steps. The minimum Gift is ₩10,000.
- Payment: KakaoPay, NaverPay, Samsung Pay, PAYCO, Korean credit and debit cards, and Apple Pay where supported, processed by Stripe.
- Refunds: because delivery begins the moment you pay, withdrawal of the purchase is restricted under Article 17(2) of Korea's Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, as shown next to the Send button. You still get a refund if the Gift was not delivered or displayed because of Hunnid's error, for duplicate charges and unauthorized payments, if a minor's purchase is cancelled under the Korean Civil Act, and wherever Korean law requires.
- Age: 19 or older.
- For DJs in Korea: a flat 70% of the VAT-inclusive Gift price as your Performance Share, with nothing else deducted (Hunnid bears VAT, processing, and currency conversion). For example, a ₩10,000 Gift earns you ₩7,000. Earnings are held for 3 days, you withdraw on demand (minimum ₩10,000, no withdrawal fee), and payouts go in won to your Korean bank account through Airwallex, typically the same or next Korean business day.
